TACKLING
Tackling is one to one; buffer to buffer. Other players should be 3 metres
from the ball. However, contact with any other part of the chairs or ramming
is a foul and is NOT allowed. If in the referee’s judgement either
of the above have taken place, an automatic free kick is awarded to the
opposing team and a yellow card may be given to the offending player.
If the referee determines that violent ramming has occurred a red card
will be given and the offending player must leave the pitch.
HEADRESTS - We recommend that they are fitted, but many
players feel that they restrict vision and movement. If you wish to have
a headrest, please consult your chair supplier.
TACKLING – MECHANICAL KICKING DEVICE CHAIR
In competitive games, as in football, one player cannot be allowed to
‘keep the ball’. However normal tackling is not possible,
so the ball ejector is fitted with a timer that is pre-set, so that after
5 seconds (may be altered depending on the category of disability) the
ball is automatically released.
TACKLING – NON MECHANICAL DEVICE CHAIR
As the chair has no electronics, automatic time release for the ball is
not possible, so the player is allowed 5 seconds of ‘ball held time’.
The player counts the 5 seconds (again, may be altered depending on the
category of disability), then must release the ball into the goal or to
another player. The referee also monitors the time. If too much time is
taken, the referee will stop the player and release the ball for the other
team to have a free kick.
SAFETY NOTE
Players must use lap seatbelts. Leg, feet and chest straps should be used
if normally worn.
DISCIPLINE
The referee’s decision is final.
SERIOUS FOUL PLAY
Should any player deliberately prevent a goal scoring chance by ramming,
they shall be given a yellow card.
