PREFACE
This page details the changes from the Football Association small sided 5 or 7-a-side indoor football rules to Wheelchair Football, played with a standard size 5 football, Electra-Football for powerchairs and the Powerchair Football version, normally (but not restricted to) played on powered wheelchairs.

WHEELCHAIR FOOTBALL, ELECTRA-FOOTBALL and POWERCHAIR FOOTBALL
LAW 4- PLAYERS EQUIPMENT SPECIFICATION


The equipment can be a complete manual, power assisted or powerchair, or an attachment for the above.

Whilst retained within the play device the ball must maintain rolling contact with the pitch surface, as the player moves in any direction.

The ball must be expelled from the device with a force sufficient to effectively propel the ball twenty metres.

The ball mouth must be behind the resilient buffer when the buffer is compressed. For the ball mouth size see drawing TD7519A.

Manual Chairs
The resilient buffer resistance must be adjustable for junior players 25kg (4 stone) or adult players 90kg (14 stone) using wheelchair and ball playing devices weight 30kg (6 stone) with forward speeds of 3kph to 8kph with a 35% safe working load.
Full cover wheel spoke guards must be fitted.

Power Chairs
The resilient buffer resistance must be adjustable for junior players 25kg (4 stone) or adult players 90kg (14 stone) using wheelchair and ball playing devices weight 150kg (24 stone) with forward speeds of 3kph to 8kph with a 35% safe working load.

The ends of the resilient buffer must not project outside the main wheels.

The load imposed by the attachments onto the wheelchair must be minimal and designed to withstand high impact loads. They must not impose any twisting force on the attachment point(s) of the chassis frame.

The footrest area must be large enough for a player with size 12 feet.

Footrests must be high enough to ensure that the player's knees are at 90° or less.
